Bappebti (Commodity Futures Trading Regulatory Agency) is a government agency under the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia responsible for regulating, developing, and supervising futures, derivatives, and commodity trading.
In the context of Gotrade, Bappebti initially served as the authority supervising PALN equity derivative contracts, as these were classified as futures contracts rather than capital market securities.
This was affirmed through several regulations, such as UUNo. 32 of 1997, UU No. 10 of 2011, and Government Regulation No. 49 of 2014, and further reinforced by the issuance of Bappebti Regulations No. 1 and 2 of 2022, which facilitated the trading of foreign equity derivative contracts—including fractional trading and access to global stocks such as Google, Tesla, and Apple.
However, as of January 10, 2025, based on the P2SK Law and OJK Regulation No. 1 of 2025, the supervisory authority over PALN equity derivative contracts has been officially transferred from Bappebti to the Financial Services Authority (OJK).
As a result, Bappebti now holds a historical role in the development of Gotrade Indonesia, since official oversight has transitioned to OJK.
